Serve our Jazz Community as a benign and neutral platform for integrating IDEAS;

Function as an informed VOICE platform to help articulate the state of the Jazz paradigm in KC;

Our Vision

To help make Kansas City the premier destination for Jazz music and its infrastructure; where career Jazz musicians find the scene to be a living-wage haven for families, live performances, teaching, and recording; where visitors and community residents can find information about the venues and entities featuring Jazz performances conveniently; and, where Jazz venues and presenters alike can regularly employ career Jazz musicians and also experience economic success.

Our History

Founded in 2013 with a mission to “raise the tide that lifts all jazz boats,” Kansas City Jazz ALIVE has always envisioned itself as a catalyst organization formed to support performing artists, owners and operators of performance venues, music educators, and music patrons through advocacy resulting from the acronym A.L.I.V.E.: Awareness, Listening, Ideas, Voice, Exposure. In support of that mission, KC Jazz ALIVE has held stakeholder gatherings based on themes of mutual interest, and, notably, promoted the annual multi-venue August event highlighting Kansas City’s Charlie Parker.
